Taylor Swift donated $1 million dollars to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund. This fund supports the communities that were hit by a string of tornadoes which destroyed parts of Tennessee, as well as assist the nonprofits helping the victims. Two tornadoes struck central Tennessee last week, leaving at least 24 people dead and hundreds of buildings destroyed. Taylor posted on Instagram, encouraging her fans to donate what they could.
“Nashville is my home and the fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me,”
Other groups have donated funds to nonprofits on the ground, including the Tennessee Titans, which also chipped in $1 million. This isn’t the first time she’s donated money toward relief efforts. In 2016, she also donated $1 million to Louisiana flood relief.
