Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, & More Are Nominated For 2019 NAACP Awards

The official 2019 NAACP Image Awards nominations were announced yesterday, and the hip-hop genre’s presence was definitely felt. Beyoncé and JAY-Z, secured three nominations, including Outstanding Album. Beyonce herself also snagged a well-deserved nomination for Entertainer of the Year.

Elsewhere in hip-hop, Kendrick Lamar’s Black Panther: The Album secured  three nominations. Kendrick was also able to secure a nomination for his acting abilities. He is in the running for Outstanding Guest Performance in a Comedy or Drama Series for his role on Starz’s Power.
